Job Title: Parapro Computer Lab Technician
- The school paraprofessional assists teachers and other school personnel in providing educational, instructional, technology, and related services to students. They work under the supervision of certified teachers and school administrators to help implement lesson plans, provide individualized attention, support students with academic and behavioral needs, and assist with the effective use of computers and other instructional technology. The paraprofessional may also provide support in computer lab settings, assist students and staff with basic technology needs, and help maintain an organized and productive learning environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Passing score on the ParaPro Praxis Exam OR 60 hours of college credit
- Previous experience working with children preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Provide individualized support to students, including tutoring and behavior management.
- Assist with classroom management and organization.
- Supervise students in various settings, such as classrooms, lunchrooms, playgrounds, and computer labs.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Support students with special needs under the direction of special education staff.
- Assist students and staff with the use of computers, educational software, applications, and other instructional technology.
- Provide basic technical assistance to students and staff, including troubleshooting common computer, software, printer, and peripheral issues.
- Help students log in to devices, access appropriate programs and online resources, and follow established technology procedures.
- Monitor students in the computer lab to ensure appropriate use of technology, equipment, and internet resources.
- Assist with maintaining, organizing, and securing computer lab equipment, devices, and instructional technology materials.
- Report damaged, malfunctioning, or missing technology equipment to the appropriate staff member or administrator.
- Assist with routine setup, shutdown, charging, and organization of computers, tablets, peripherals, and other technology equipment.
- Help ensure that students follow district technology policies, acceptable-use guidelines, and appropriate online behavior expectations.
- Assist teachers in incorporating technology into classroom instruction and student learning activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
- Participate in professional development activities and staff meetings as required.
- Respond to administrative requests promptly.
- Comply with all federal and state laws and district policies.
- Comply with regulations as to hours of arrival and departure from school.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher, computer lab supervisor, or school administration.
